2012 Macbook Pro Redesign

Tons of rumors are flying around about the 2012 Macbook Pro. personally - I can not wait...

 

Top rumors at this point include:

2880x1800 Display

An almost "Retina Display". While a true retina display must be 300DPI, this comes damn close - and in a laptop - well it is just insane - crazy in a way I like.

Macbook Air Form Factor

The other major change expected is for the 15.4" MBP to fall into the thinner, lighter Macbook Air form factor. This would be a welcome change in my opinion. Right now I don't even use an optical drive, so when I compare my bulky (not really, but relatively) 15"MBP to my wife's 11" Macbook Air, I do feel I would like a slightly more portable laptop for surfing on the couch. For a while I had the 13" Macbook, which was kind of in the middle, but the resolution on the screen just didn't cut it for me as a graphics and IT professional. I upgraded to the 15.4" Macbook Pro with the 1680x1050 screen and was much happier. But I do iss the portability some.

The PERFECT Laptop

Bottom line is if Apple deivers with a 15.4" MBP in a thin Air form factor, AND also packs in a retina display with crazy resolutiom, we will have the perfect laptop. If this becomes available I will buy one instantly. Simple as that. Unfortunately what I expect will happen is this. In Q2 2012 Apple will introdue the new Macbook Pro line - the major difference will simply be the thinner Air form factor. Then in Q4 Apple will relaunch the MBP line again, this time with the thin Aitr form factor AND the Retina display. Please oh please just release one with both features now?

 

Oh, and a lot of people have been asking "where can I get that wallpaper".
